The Matei Visniec International Theatre Days Festival, held from May 11 to 19, transformed Suceava into a vibrant hub of art, offering a fascinating journey through diverse performances and captivating the hearts of the audience.
The festival bears the name of Romanian playwright Matei Visniec, an emblematic figure in contemporary theatre. Founded in 1997, the festival has become an important tradition in Suceava's cultural life, bringing to the forefront the beauty and depth of theatrical art. Over the years, the event has brought together renowned figures from the Romanian and international stage, offering the public memorable performances and contributing to the promotion of cultural values.
This year's edition was a resounding success, both in terms of organization and the quality of the performances. The halls were packed for all the performances, demonstrating the public's appreciation for the diversity and artistic value of the program.
Renowned guests from 7 countries (Romania, France, Italy, Ukraine, Austria, Spain, and the Republic of Moldova), 18 theaters and 3 youth theater troupes participated in this edition, offering spectators the chance to attend 60 events.
The audience could choose from various theatrical genres, from comedies to shows for children, teenagers, and adults, enjoying musical, classical, and contemporary performances, outdoor productions, conferences, workshops, book launches, photography, graphic and sculpture exhibitions, and visual installations.
The Suceava "Matei Visniec" Theater actors officially opened the festival with the national premiere of the play "How We Buried Stalin" by Artur Solomonov, which the foundation specially supported. Additionally, they donated 550 personalized t-shirts for the entire team of organizers, actors, directors, and artists invited to the event.
The ASSIST Humanitarian Foundation played a crucial role in the festival's success, having been a dedicated sponsor of the event in previous years as well. The foundation's active involvement once again demonstrated the organization's commitment to promoting cultural values and providing access to art for a wider audience. Their support significantly contributed to transforming Suceava into a vibrant center of art for 9 days, placing the city on the map of reference cultural centers.
The ASSIST Humanitarian Foundation is proud to have contributed to the success of this event and is committed to continuing to support projects that promote cultural values and bring joy to the public.
