The ASSIST Humanitarian Foundation is transforming the Fântânele Middle School into a more student-friendly space

The ASSIST Humanitarian Foundation is committed to promoting education as a vital tool for building a better society. One of the examples of this endeavor is the transformation carried out at Fântânele Middle School. The initiative continues the successful project conducted last year at Baineț Middle School in the spring. 

A  More Motivating Learning Space

Thanks to the joint efforts of the ASSIST Humanitarian Foundation volunteers, the Hope 4 Humanity Association, and members of the local community, 90 students (45 from primary education and 45 from middle school) now have access to a more pleasant and inspiring learning environment. The hallway, ICT laboratory, and five classrooms have been decorated with mural paintings and inspiring quotes about education, which help to create a more stimulating atmosphere for class activities. 

A Collective Effort

Over 30 volunteers have dedicated their time and energy to this project. The younger students enthusiastically contributed to each painting, while older students prepared snacks for the volunteers, demonstrating great teamwork. The "Petru Rareș" National College Student Council in Suceava contributed to equipping the school library with over 50 new books to help the Baineț School students discover new literary worlds. 

Long-Term Impact

This project is not just about aesthetic change. The motivational paintings and quotes will help cultivate an environment that nurtures creativity among students, inspiring their curiosity and eagerness to learn. Additionally, a more attractive space will make them feel more welcome and reduce the risk of school dropout. Community volunteers' involvement has undoubtedly helped strengthen the relationships between the school and its surrounding environment, fostering a sense of unity. 

A Step Towards More Accessible Education

The project in Fântânele is an excellent demonstration of how the collaboration between a dedicated non-profit organization, a school striving for change, and an involved community can make education more accessible for all children.
