United for the future of art in Suceava at Autumn Symphonies 2025
The Suceava community gathered on September 11 on the Suceava City Center Esplanade for the 12th edition of Autumn Symphonies. The event, organized by the Rotary Club Suceava-Bucovina, brought to the stage big names in Romanian music, such as soprano Irina Baianț and tenors Andrei Apreotesei, Florin Guzgă, and Andrei Fermeșanu. The Iași National Opera Orchestra, conducted by Andrei Tudor, and the "Ciprian Porumbescu" Choir of Suceava also contributed to the excitement and refinement of the show.
As the main partner of the event, ASSIST Humanitarian Foundation awarded the 2025 Excellence in Education Award to a professor who has distinguished himself through his achievements in the community. We are proud to be part of the Autumn Symphonie, an event which has already become a tradition in the cultural agenda of Suceava. This show proves every year that music has the power to unite people through emotion and solidarity.
Together for the artistic future of Suceava
Our involvement in the Autumn Symphonies is part of a broader vision to strengthen education and culture at the local level. The charitable cause for which this year's fundraising was launched was the auditorium modernization at the "Ciprian Porumbescu" Art College in Suceava. This large-scale project aims to provide young people in Suceava with a modern space that meets international performance standards.
As the largest project launched by ASSIST Humanitarian Foundation, the support of the Rotary Club Suceava-Bucovina and the Suceava community is essential in completing the work that began in June. We are grateful to everyone involved in this project and to our partners ASSIST Software, NovaOptic, Rotary Club Suceava-Bucovina, EGGER Romania, Sercom Electric, Design Avenue, and German architect Dipl.-Ing. Peter Eickholt.
2025 Excellence in Education Award
At this year's edition, we presented the Excellence in Education Award, worth 7,500 lei, to mathematics teacher Dan Popescu, principal of the "Ștefan cel Mare" National College in Suceava. The award was presented to the applause of the audience in recognition of his entire career spanning over four decades. Under his leadership, the "Ștefan cel Mare" National College has become a national elite institution, with a 100% pass rate in exams, hundreds of Olympians, and numerous international medals.
Mr. Dan Popescu's involvement in the Suceava County Center of Excellence has also contributed to the training of exceptional students who have distinguished themselves in national and international competitions or have been admitted to prestigious universities.
Excellence in education is not measured only by medals or statistics, but above all by the way teachers manage to inspire, to shape character, and to prepare future generations. Mr. Popescu is an example of consistency and passion, and our community must shine a light on such valuable people.
The Autumn Symphonies 2025 confirmed once again that Suceava has a generous audience eager to enjoy culture at the highest level. Together, we have demonstrated that we can build a valuable artistic and educational future for the Suceava community.
