This year, on June 1st, Fundația Umanitară ASSIST celebrated Children's Day at the Festivalul de Joacă ”Tărâmul Copiilor” (“Children’s Land” Festival) in the "Comoara Bucovinei" holiday village!
Our volunteers helped set up and run activities for the children to enjoy. Games, creative crafts activities, and teamwork were just some things that can define how we celebrated this special day.
Together with our partners, EduMax and the Bucovina Institute, we wanted to offer the children a fantastic day full of joy and special activities. Over 500 children, teachers, parents, organizers, and volunteers attended and contributed to making the event a success. The children were able to participate in creative workshops and team games. At the Fundația Umanitară ASSIST booth, they could experience virtual reality for free through fun games.
The festival was open to all children! Fundația Umanitară ASSIST decided to offer a special day to children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Thus, we invited and provided transport for 29 children from the village of Țâmpoceni (Păltinoasa) and 21 from Ciprian Porumbescu. Volunteers ensured that these children enjoyed themselves and returned home with many gifts and unforgettable memories!
Parents were not excluded from the fun either. Many of the activities, such as playing sports, face painting, arts and crafts, and cooking workshops, required their involvement. The children's enthusiasm was an inexhaustible source of energy for the volunteers of Fundația Umanitară ASSIST. Out of their curiosity to try every activity, many of the kids at the festival were eager to try the VR games. We were excited to show them the games and we were delighted by their reactions.
Shortly after the festival began, the "Comoara Bucovinei" holiday village turned into a fairy-tale land. The children were disguised as various animals and storybook characters at the face painting workshops. The merry songs resounded among the laughter of the little ones. And the sun, which could not bear to hide behind the clouds, accompanied us almost throughout the entire event.
The smiles of the children filled our hearts with joy. Attended by children, parents, volunteers, and friends, the event was enjoyed by all. There was no trace of everyday concerns among the songs, dances, and good cheer.
