Have you ever wondered how children with disabilities navigate and interact with the world around them?
Childhood can be challenging, filled with constant learning and adapting to new experiences. For children with disabilities, these challenges are even greater, as they perceive and engage with their surroundings in unique ways. They require special care, tailored therapies, and compassionate individuals who possess the love, patience, and dedication to guide them through their development journey.
A Safe Haven for Children with Disabilities
This is what inspired the Teona Ariana Association to establish the Teona House, a safe haven for children who, in many parts of the world, are still misdiagnosed, misunderstood, and even marginalized. The center is dedicated to nurturing their personal and social growth while promoting inclusion and acceptance within society. Soon, the center will expand to include rooms for psychology sessions and physical and speech therapy, providing essential services to every child completely free of charge.
At the ASSIST Humanitarian Foundation, we advocate for all children, including those with various disorders and disabilities, because we believe every child deserves equal opportunities for a better education. We partnered with the Teona Ariana Association, equipping the space with two systems and a smart tablet to create new learning opportunities.
Recently, we had the privilege of visiting the center and meeting some truly extraordinary children. Their warmth and kindness left a lasting impression, while their resilience and unique perspectives challenged our preconceptions. They reminded us of the profound value of every individual and inspired us to embrace acceptance, goodness, and altruism in our own lives.
Supporting Parents Through Their Journey
For the parents of these children, the journey can be incredibly challenging. They face social scrutiny, heightened pressure to make the right choice, and the heavy responsibility of providing the best care for their children.
Understanding this, the Teona House created a special room where parents can connect, exchange experiences, and share insights about their children's emotional burdens and daily challenges. In this safe, welcoming environment, they can relax while their children play under the watchful eyes of dedicated volunteers.
Innovative Solutions
Understanding the profound impact of disabilities on children and their families, our team at ASSIST Software collaborated with experts to develop AUTISMA, a platform designed for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) aged 0 to 8 years. The platform includes a web application with therapeutic guidelines for specialists and a mobile app to assist parents, caregivers, and teachers in daily interactions.
We’ve also extended our efforts through partnerships with the FARA Foundation, providing games and toys for their center, and the Help Autism Foundation, where we contributed to an interactive playground designed to foster engagement and development for children with autism.
Join us in our mission to create a more inclusive and compassionate world. Together, we can ensure that every child has the chance to grow, learn, and feel the boundless support of a caring community.
Let’s build a brighter tomorrow, one step at a time. 🌟
