Every year, on the 14th of June, the world comes together to celebrate World Blood Donor Day. This special day recognizes the altruist individuals who put their time and effort into saving lives.

World Blood Donor Day serves as a global reminder of the critical need for blood in hospitals and medical centers. It also aims to raise awareness about the importance of regular blood donation. Thus, today is the perfect moment to express gratitude to those who donate, emphasizing that their generosity is a lifeline for countless patients in need. 

Did you know that Romania ranks last in Europe when it comes to blood donation, with only 1.7% of Romanians on the list of donors?

Donate blood! Be a #ProudDonor 

We, at Fundatia Umanitară ASSIST, help with the blood shortage in Suceava through our annual blood donation campaign called "Donate Blood! Be a #ProudDonor." Since our first campaign in 2019, blood donation has become one of our annual traditions. This campaign takes place around the World Blood Donor Day as it aims to raise awareness and encourage volunteers and community members to make an act of altruism.  

This year, from the 9th of June up to the 14th, we organized a new edition of the "Donate Blood. Be a #ProudDonor!" campaign. A total of 19 volunteers donated blood at the Suceava County Blood Transfusion Center and we are grateful for their commitment to helping others!
