The Humanitarian Foundation ASSIST, in collaboration with ISU Bucovina Suceava, organized a first aid course to provide ASSIST Software employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to intervene effectively in critical situations.

The course included detailed instructions provided by the SMURD team and volunteers, who explained the first steps in stabilizing victims in various circumstances. Participants learned how to perform CPR correctly, the Heimlich maneuver, and practiced on special mannequins.

Why is it important to know first aid?

  • To save lives. Prompt and correct intervention can make the difference between life and death.
  • To reduce the risk of complications. Providing first aid can prevent the victim's condition from worsening.
  • To offer moral support. The presence and attention given to the victim can have a significant positive impact psychologically.

What can we learn on such a course?

  • How to recognize a medical emergency.
  • How to ensure our own safety and that of the victim.
  • How to assess the victim's condition.
  • How to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). CPR is an essential maneuver for maintaining blood circulation and oxygen to the brain and other vital organs until the ambulance arrives. It is important to start CPR immediately after cardiac arrest is detected and continue until the victim resumes breathing or specialized medical teams arrive.
  • How to perform the Heimlich maneuver. This maneuver is used to unblock the airways in case of suffocation caused by a foreign object.

Importance of first aid courses

First aid knowledge is essential not only for medical professionals but for all people. Regardless of profession or age, anyone can be put in a situation to provide first aid to a person in difficulty.

Enthusiasm and active involvement in the first aid course

The first aid course organized by the Humanitarian Foundation ASSIST in collaboration with ISU Bucovina Suceava was marked by the participants' enthusiasm and active involvement. The desire to acquire knowledge and skills essential for saving lives was manifested by the curiosity of those present, who asked numerous questions and participated with interest in the practical part of the course.

Applying the maneuvers learned on mannequins represented a valuable opportunity to consolidate theoretical knowledge and to gain the confidence necessary to approach medical emergencies. The participants demonstrated active involvement and a real desire to learn how to act effectively to save lives.

The Humanitarian Foundation ASSIST encourages participation in first aid courses, both within companies and at an individual level. Investing in educating the population in this area can save lives and contribute to a safer and more responsible society.

In addition to individual benefits, first aid courses can bring added value to companies as well. Trained first aid workers can help create a safer work environment for everyone and can more effectively manage any medical emergencies that may arise.

The Humanitarian Foundation ASSIST invests in community safety

The Humanitarian Foundation ASSIST believes that education in the field of first aid is a vital investment in the safety and well-being of the community. Moreover, at the beginning of the year, we donated 3 sets of CPR mannequins to ISU Suceava, purchased with funds raised at last year's Christmas charity concert.

Through this generous action, the mannequins will contribute to the improvement of the skills of both volunteers and paramedics, ensuring prompt and qualified intervention in medical emergencies. Moreover, the donation will facilitate the organization of first aid courses in schools, preparing future generations to act responsibly in case of need.
