The most valuable life lessons are often learned through experiences: caring for others, showing respect in society, and having the courage to step beyond one’s limits. Education comes alive when knowledge is combined with play, friendship, and values that shape character. With an integrated approach to learning, children gain life lessons that help them grow into balanced, confident individuals.

This August, we once again stood by the side of children during the Summer School program “Childhood – A Dream World”, organized by Secondary School No. 1 in Suceava. For the third consecutive year, the ASSIST Humanitarian Foundation supported this educational initiative, enabling children to learn through play and interactive activities.

Learning Safety on the Streets and Online

This year’s program began with a strong focus on safety in traffic and in the digital space. A team from the Suceava County Police Inspectorate introduced children to traffic rules, showing them why road signs and careful attention are essential for staying safe. The interactive session encouraged kids to ask questions and share real-life situations, making the lesson practical and engaging.

After practicing safe street crossing and responsible behavior in crowded areas, the focus shifted to the online world. Our volunteers, Eusebiu Candrea and Eduard Huțu, guided the children through essential lessons on digital safety: recognizing suspicious messages, avoiding deceptive websites, and protecting personal data. Using concrete examples and open discussions, they helped the kids understand how to explore the internet wisely, turning technology into a safe space for learning and discovery.

The Lesson of Good Manners

On the second day, the children participated in an Etiquette and Good Manners workshop, led by Mrs. Margareta Lupașcu. The session highlighted the importance of respect for others and how proper behavior can positively shape everyday interactions.

The kids learned how to greet appropriately, express politeness in different situations, and which words and gestures most fit their relationships with others. Through real-life examples, from meeting teachers and classmates to behaving in public spaces, they discovered that kindness and respect are timeless values that will guide them at every stage of life.

Education for the Community

Working with children has always been one of our favorite activities. At the ASSIST Humanitarian Foundation, we remain committed to supporting our community through educational projects that help children grow confidently, build friendships, and develop well-rounded individuals.

Our involvement is not a one-time effort, but part of a continuous mission. Last year, we partnered with Secondary School No. 1 Suceava in the same Summer School program, where children explored creative activities to spark curiosity and teamwork. (link to last year’s article)

One of the Foundation’s core missions is to nurture the desire to learn and provide children with strong values for the future. We believe that today’s youth form the foundation of a strong society, and investing in their complete education is one of our greatest gifts.

If you, too, want to contribute to raising an educated and responsible generation, we invite you to join our initiatives and support the activities of the ASSIST Humanitarian Foundation.

Together, we can build a brighter future for children and our community.
